Side/back light?

11

-I'm not sure what the lighting situation is here. I was trying to work on back lighting, but she turns around so much.

-Someday I will take a picture of her when she doesn't have food around her mouth.

-This photo is kind of a self portrait. Can you find me? Here's a hint, I'm wearing Farr's bright red shirt.

Today.

pre-nap:

1:20:11_2

We went to the library today. Behind the library there is this really pretty view with gorgeous saguaro cactuses and other desert coolness and conveniently the library has a short little hiking trail. I thought it would be a great place to practice taking photos in shadow/daytime situation. Amorie thought it would be a great place to run on the trail and ignore her mother. So...I snapped a couple and decided to try later.

nap time:

She fell asleep on the couch while I was getting her lunch ready. It takes a lot of effort to dodge your mother's camera all morning. No wonder she was pooped.

post nap:

This is how the conversation went: "Amorie, I will give you fruit snacks if you smile for me." "Bout bunny smile for you?" That would work except that bunny doesn't have a mouth. Still, now I have 27 photos of bunny where he is looking directly at the camera which is more than I have of Amorie in all 3 1/2 years of her life.

I love that every once in awhile, she still looks like my baby and not the back talking toddler that she has become. And yes, that is food on the left side of her mouth. Some sort of chocolate if I recall.

I call this one: "Nap time" or maybe "Please, for the love of all that is holy, leave me alone mother."

Her tail.

11

Why, oh why do we spend money on toys for this kid? Her new favorite thing? The draw string from a pair of my shorts. She calls it her tail and has held it or had it near her (we don't let her have it in bed) for the last three days. It went to the park, ate dinner (she dipped it in her soup bowl because it was hungry) , and had a bath today. Maybe we should hug her more.
