And I think you should move to Phoenix. Sorry it's so slow going. I have to edit during nap time (And my 2 year old doesn't naps anymore so I have about 10 minutes of un-interrupted editing time) and after they are in bed.

She is so impressive.

Amorie played in the primary program this Sunday. There were roughly 400 people there. She was terrified and her poor little fingers were shaking, but she pulled it off like a champ.
I had to throw this one in because it totally shows her awesome personality. Farr told her to open her mouth a little when she smiles and this is what we got.

Hello,

I know how amazed you are with my awesomeness in regard to the name for today's activity.  I have to admit, I am also amazed at my awesomeness.  Sci-Fri!!

I apologize for the picture quality.  My kitchen doesn't have great light.

Today we did an experiment with pressure.  It's an oldie but a goodie.  The classic "hard boiled egg into a bottle" experiment.



Normal scientists only have laws of nature to contend with, but we had this little imp to battle.  Lets just say that smashing hard boiled eggs on the table was an amusing experience.



So after bribing Izzy with skittles, we began.

 I was worried that the bottle opening was to small, but I didn't really have many other options. It worked ok.  It pulled the egg about half way in, but it didn't make that awesome plunk sound that I remember from science class so we tried a different bottle.



Amazingly enough, this worked better! I was worried that there wouldn't be enough oxygen, but it worked fine.

Izzy started singing the Happy Birthday song when we lit the matches.

I explained about pressure and heat and all that good stuff to Amorie and when I asked her after why the egg got pulled into the bottle she said "The air inside got super excited and wanted to come out so it pulled the egg out of the way." Works for me!

Thursday is Art day.

I don't have a cool title for Art day (currently Thursday) and I am taking suggestions (but it has to be as awesome as my Friday title which if I do say so myself: It is awesome). This week I printed out a picture of Amorie and Izzy and told them to paint/color it however they wanted. Easy peasy.

I desaturated it in photoshop to make their coloring page.

Amorie said that she wanted her and Izzy to be super heroes.  

After she was done, she realized that they weren't wearing capes so she drew one with the correct costumes on.  You can't see it very well, but they have capes and are flying over our house (she even drew their shadows). And this is how my conversation with Izzy went: Hiya Mommmmmy =) (3 seconds later) What? (.7 seconds later) Whatch you want!

Oh man do I love this kid! She is wild, fun, diabolical, entertaining, stubborn, energetic/tiring, and delightful.

Hi everyone. I have been working on the pictures from the wedding and I wanted to show you a little preview and give you all some processing options. I will process all the photos these 2 ways. (Standard and Black and white) This photo has a been slightly sharpened. Some people like things crisp; some people like things a little softer. These photos have a slightly warmer tint to it. This photo has a process called "technicolor dream world" added to it. (Softer focus) This image has a process called "Rusty cage" added to it. It gives it a little brown tint and softens the image a bit. I still have about 200 images to edit and process, but when all is done I will let everyone know! All the cds that I send out will have the standard/black and white images. If you want me to process some images with the other processes let me know.

So................... I took these photos, not realizing that the ISO was still set to 1600 from our Christmas lights pictures. (Bang head on desk.)

Challenge 3: Smile

Getting a natural smile out of this one IS a challenge. Still, these photos show my goofy girl and I love em.


In this one she said, "Ok Ok I'll smile" and then gave me this look. She likes to taunt me.

Challenge 2: Pure White.

I don't own anything pure white. Haven't had anything pure white for 4 years, 75 days, 12 hours, and 53 minutes. I thought about doing a flower, but didn't see a single white flower on my run this morning. Maybe a cloud? Nope. It's stormy here. So after their naps, I filled the tub with bubbles, but by the time I had bribed Amorie and gotten Izzy naked, the bubbles were gone. This is the 3rd attempt at white, and the most pleasant facial expression that Amorie gave me.

The Diva's & Dreams 40 Photo Challenges

Need motivation. This challenge has some fun themes and I'm kind of excited. My subject will probably still always be my girls, but maybe I won't feel like breaking my camera if I don't have to chase Amorie around to get a face shot. Day one: High Heels.

She can't roll over yet, but I make her hang out on her stomach anyway.

Amorie is the BEST big sister! She tells Izzy everyday: "I love you so much Izzy."

She didn't want me to take a picture of just her because she was "so too tired" but then when I was about done, she ran over and gave me a hug and I snuck in a shot. I love her goofy smile.
